Meet the Evangelists

Anthony was born in 1983 and is married to Leah Barasa, who is three years younger. Together they have four natural children, Jeremiah, Jemimah, Keziah, and Sheryl, and an adopted daughter, Agnes. They also care for an orphaned cousin, Magdalene.

Rod met David in 2017 on his first visit to Kenya. He was a student at the Kenya School of Preaching in Kisumu. They had been corresponding before that meeting and had made a connection.​​

David Ochocho joined the CMI team at the beginning of our work in Kenya. Along with his co-worker Gregory Ochieng, he was the first young man to train at the Nairobi Great Commission School. 

Among our evangelists, Osumba Benson's nephew, Gregory, was the first, along with David Ochocho, to be supported by CMI and sent to the Nairobi Great Commission School.         

Brother Edwin Juma Mijude became known to CMI through Brother Felix Rawago, who planted the Oyugis Church of Christ in the town center. Rod met Brother Felix at the African Christian College anniversary ceremony in Swaziland in 2017.

Julius leads the Rangju congregation, focusing on community discipleship, preaching, and teaching the local population in the Kisumu region.​

The Lwanda Church of Christ has transitioned into a highly active community movement focused on preaching, discipleship, and local outreach.

Began working with CMI in 2025, planting the Tumaini (meaning Hope) Church of Christ in Bondo, Kenya. This young church is growing rapidly in this small village. They will soon need to find land of their own.

Zacharia places a massive strategic focus on mentoring the younger generation. He heavily promotes "Special Youth Sunday Services" where young men lead the bible study, prayers, and singing to prepare them for future church leadership

Operating as a Christian leader in a country where 96% of the population is Muslim, Naeem Sabir's work is widely recognized within global Restoration Movement networks for its resilience. Sabir serves as director of the Sahiwal Bible College, an extension of the World Bible Institute (WBI)

While rooted in the major metropolitan hub of Hyderabad, Jessy travels extensively across India's states and rural regions to host gospel meetings, train local leaders, and help plant new independent congregations.

Because political instability and economic hardship have caused a massive exodus from Haiti, Jean Robert travels internationally to plant churches and host seminars for Haitian immigrants in the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Chile, France, Guadeloupe, and parts of the United States.
